The Importance of Indoor Air Quality in Connecticut Schools

The State of Connecticut has mandated Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Requirements for schools that must be met prior to January 2024. I have the statute below for your review. A clean Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning System (HVAC) consisting of Air Handling Units (AHUs) Ductwork, Coils, VAV Boxes, Fresh Air Intakes and other components are a very important part of maintaining healthy IAQ. A dirty HVAC system hampers the system’s ability to operate as designed and installed. It is also important to keep the systems clean to ensure Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) are not being distributed through the HVAC System into occupied spaces.
