Ductwork Interior Insulation

Interior Insulation

Duct & Vent Cleaning of America, Inc. specializes in interior ductwork insulation stripping and re-insulation. Many facilities overlook the importance of inspecting the interior insulation in their Air Handling Units and ductwork.  Insulation that is degraded will create poor indoor air quality.  Flakes of insulation become airborne.  The insulation can lodge in components including the reheat coils, turning vanes, and air conditioning coils.  Even worse than that, it can enter occupied spaces potentially causing discomfort and negative health effects.

To help prevent wear and tear on your heating and cooling system components ensure that your internal insulation is in good shape by having a regular inspection of your HVAC system. Degraded insulation can also be the source of leaky ductwork.  According to the department of energy, around 20 to 30 percent of the heated or cooled air flowing through the ductwork system is lost to leaks and uninsulated surfaces.

Our Procedure:

Duct & Vent Cleaning of America, Inc. will start by ripping out the old interior insulation and preparing the surface of the ductwork by grinding out all the glue and pins that hold down the old insulation. We then install a new closed cell insulation that will not degrade over time.

Here is a picture showing before, during, and after of the interior insulation replacement process:
