Duct & Vent Cleaning of America, Inc. was contracted to strip out the deteriorated fiberglass liner from two roof-top air handling units and replaced with Armaflex SA closed cell foam liner. This is the third year that the school has budgeted in monies to have DVCA replace the insulation in more of their RTU’s with the goal of having all their units refurbished within the next few years. Armaflex insulation is a mold resistant, nonwicking product with Microban antimicrobial protection that will help to ensure Fields Memorial School remains a safe and healthy environment for years to come.
The details of our work at the direction of the customer included contact HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) vacuuming 17 return air risers serving the second level of the podium section of the casino. HEPA vacuums and filters can trap 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or greater. Risers were cleaned 20 feet upwards or to a turn. Fire dampers in all 17 risers were contact HEPA vacuumed and hand wiped. In addition, return ductwork for AHUs 6 and 10, where reachable and accessible, were contact HEPA vacuumed inwards of 20 feet or to a turn.
On this project Duct & Vent Cleaning of America, Inc. used a contact HEPA vacuumed and washed coils in three air handling units. We contact HEPA vacuumed the supply and return ductwork in areas with drop ceilings. Inaccessible ductwork above the sheet rock ceiling in the sanctuary was cleaned by putting the ductwork under negative pressure with a high volume negative air machine while utilizing rotary brush cleaning techniques to dislodge built up debris.

This project also involved careful collaboration with the art gallery curator to ensure the safety and protection of the priceless artwork and sculptures.

We were called into this job on a Saturday and Sunday because the heat exchanger in the rooftop heat recovery unit was clogged which caused cold enough temperatures to burst pipes in the school. We contact HEPA vacuumed and air washed the heat exchanger to improve airflow. We also contact HEPA vacuumed three reheat coils, all ductwork and all diffusers in the air handling system.

Duct & Vent Cleaning of America, Inc. has recently taken on a project during a summer renovation at Mercy High School in Middletown, Connecticut. As "America's indoor clean-air specialists" our company was called upon to service and clean the school's duct work, system registers and vents, and the air handling units within the renovated area as well as the enormous space resting above the auditorium. This area in particular was very strenuous and time consuming to clean due to the summer heat and the unideal space the team was working in. The auditorium's attic ductwork that we were servicing laid on an acoustic, insulating platform that limited our crew’s mobility and accessibility. The foundation of the auditorium's roof could not be walked on and therefore we used wood panels to move around and get the job done!
